Volunteer with us
Volunteers play a significant role in welcoming and supporting new Queenslanders. MDA volunteers are motivated, committed, flexible, compassionate, and creative and enjoy working as part of a team.
Our volunteers give their time, offer practical and social support and create a warm welcome for our clients.
MDA’s volunteer program offers a range of volunteer opportunities to match skills and experience. Volunteers meet with clients in their homes to practice English, provide job seeking support, help MDA with events, assist clients in filling their citizenship forms and perform a range of tasks to welcome refugees, people seeking asylum, migrants and international students.
MDA volunteers are required to commit to a minimum of three months. MDA volunteers are also required to obtain a blue card or an exemption card and can only commence volunteering when they have a valid blue card, exemption card or their current blue card has been linked to MDA.
We will open the next volunteer intake for Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and Gold Coast area in November 2019, stay tuned!
